THE BUILD GUIDE / PROJECT PLANNING

How Long Does a Gullwing Replica Build Take?

There is no fixed build duration or published production lead time here. Confirm supplier timing for the selected package and discuss completion scheduling separately with your workshop.

There are several schedules to coordinate

Production timing describes when the selected supply can be prepared. Delivery timing describes getting that package to the destination. Workshop timing covers fitment, assembly, finishing and the remaining work. These schedules are related, but they are not the same promise.

Do not use a target completion date as evidence that a supplier has confirmed a production slot. Share the target, then ask which dates can actually be agreed for the components being quoted.

Resolve decisions before scheduling dependent work

A clear body and component list makes the timing discussion more concrete. Open chassis decisions, unidentified existing parts or an undefined glazing selection mean important aspects of the build still need review.

Ask your builder to identify which information and components are needed before each stage. Keep those dependencies visible so paint, upholstery or other finishing work is not scheduled around assumptions that have not been checked.

Include the receiving plan

Delivery requires more than a destination name. Discuss freight, crating, collection options and receiving arrangements for the actual package. Coverage and costs need confirmation, and no standard nationwide transit duration is stated here.

Your workshop should know what is arriving and what remains to be sourced. An itemized quote and a current project list help prevent a delivery being mistaken for the arrival of every part required to complete the car.

Use the enquiry to communicate your stage

State whether you are researching, assembling a parts list or ready to discuss supply. Include your target month if known, the chassis status and the workshop plan. Be clear about any dates that come from your own schedule rather than an agreed supplier commitment.

Reconfirm timing if the specification changes. A broader package or different component selection needs a fresh scheduling discussion. The aim is an agreed plan based on current information, rather than a generic promised build duration.
