A kit is the beginning of your project
Gulf Coast Gullwing supplies replica bodies and components for builders who want to develop their own car. The core offering centers on a fiberglass body and fiberglass interior foundation. Glass, door hardware, exterior details and frame-related options can be discussed together so your enquiry covers more than the shell alone.
Kits start at $20,000. That starting figure is a reference for the kit offering, not the total cost of a finished vehicle. Your written quotation needs to identify the exact panels, interior pieces, optional parts and supporting hardware. Use it as the scope for your purchase and as the starting point for your wider build budget.
US-made fiberglass with a 1954 reference
Our body mold was taken from an original 1954 first-series reference body. The supplied shell is a new fiberglass reproduction. Its roofline, fender forms and door openings give the project its distinctive character while leaving the final finish and component configuration to the builder.
One construction detail is especially useful to understand: the early reference used separate wheel-arch eyebrow pieces. Our production shell integrates those forms into the main fiberglass body. The reference explains the shape; it does not mean the new shell shares the original vehicle’s materials or every construction detail.
Define the package before choosing individual parts
A body package, a body with selected components, and a broader project package describe different scopes. A broad package enquiry can cover frame-related options and a larger parts list, but it is still an enquiry for components rather than an offer of an assembled vehicle. Tell us which work your own workshop or chosen builder will undertake.
If you already have a chassis, glazing, trim or door hardware, identify those items first. Compatibility should be discussed against your actual configuration. A familiar body shape or a similar-looking part is not enough to establish fit.
- Body shell, door panels and the exact fiberglass interior piece list
- Windshield and other glazing options
- Front and rear upper hinges, door support and closing hardware
- Bumpers, grille, exterior trim and their mounting components
- Frame or chassis-related options for your intended configuration
Plan the handover as carefully as the parts list
Include your state, country and target date when requesting kit information. Production timing, shipping coverage, crating, freight cost and collection arrangements need to be confirmed for your package. A workshop photo shows a stage of a build; it is not a promise of a particular delivery finish or production slot.
Before committing, keep a separate list of the work and components outside the quoted package. Drivetrain, running gear, upholstery, instruments, seats, paint and assembly should have their own sourcing or workshop plan unless your quotation expressly includes an item. The best first conversation starts with the build you intend to complete and a clear account of what you already have.
