What material is the replica shell made from?
The shell is fiberglass and is manufactured in the United States.
GULF COAST GULLWING / BODY & COMPONENTS
The body gives the project its proportions. Our new fiberglass shell draws its shape from a 1954 first-series reference and is manufactured in the United States.

A convincing build begins with the relationship between roofline, fenders, openings and overall silhouette. The original 1954 first-series body was used as the mold reference for this reproduction. That origin is useful context for understanding the appearance of the shell, rather than a claim that the product is an original vehicle.
The body supplied today is fiberglass. Its specification should be discussed as a new component for your project. Exact dimensions, weight, laminate specification and supplied finish are not published here; request those details for the body and configuration under consideration before using them in a design or purchasing decision.
The raised eyebrow forms over the wheel arches are a defining visual feature. The early reference used separate pieces in those positions. Our production shell molds the forms into the main fiberglass body, carrying the detail within the shell itself.
The workshop images show how the eyebrow follows the fender. If you are comparing a reference photograph with the supplied replica, distinguish shape from assembly method. The 1954 reference story explains this difference in more depth and provides the context for discussing body and trim requirements together.
A shell enquiry should identify the chassis or platform you intend to use, even if the choice is still open. Include the door hardware, glazing and interior components already in your possession. A matching project description helps the supplier and your builder decide what needs to be checked before the package is finalized.
Door panels and fiberglass interior pieces can be considered alongside the main shell. Upper hinges, support mechanisms and latching parts belong in a separate hardware scope. Windshield and other glass options also require their own compatibility discussion. Treat these interfaces as planned work rather than assuming every separately sourced piece will align.
Our gallery includes bare bodies, an open door, cabin pieces and a chassis assembly. Some photographs show exterior finishing components fitted to a body. These are useful views of shape and build stages, but the visible trim and hardware do not automatically become part of a body quotation.
Before ordering, ask for the current specification and any additional views required by your builder. Agree what must be checked before paint or final finishing. Transport, crating, lead time and destination costs should also be confirmed in writing. The contact form lets you describe these requirements, or you can email sales with your body questions.
