THE BUILD GUIDE / PROJECT PLANNING
Choosing a Chassis for a Gullwing Replica
Discuss the body and intended drivetrain with your builder and supplier before choosing a chassis. No universal platform compatibility is claimed for our replica body.

Begin with the project brief
Record the body you plan to use, the drivetrain direction, the intended cabin layout and the people responsible for engineering and assembly. If the project is intended for road use, ask the responsible authority about the applicable process before assuming it will follow from a kit purchase.
An existing platform can be the starting point for questions, but its availability alone does not establish fit. Identify its source, version and modifications. Share the relevant specifications your builder has rather than relying on a general vehicle description.
Request applicable information
Ask for the dimensions, mounting information and component specifications needed by the people designing the build. This website’s chassis photograph is an assembly reference, not a verified drawing for fabrication or a standard chassis specification.
If a critical dimension or structural detail is unknown, keep it unresolved until the appropriate information is available. Selecting parts around guessed measurements can make the project plan appear more complete than it is.
Define responsibilities and supply
Frame and chassis-related solutions can be discussed for the intended configuration. Make clear whether the request is for supporting components, a broader frame-related scope, or information to coordinate parts you already own.
Separate supplier components from engineering, fabrication, mechanical installation and final validation. No engineering certification is claimed on this site. Your builder should explain how the proposed configuration will be reviewed and what information is required to proceed.
Keep the quote tied to the configuration
A change in chassis or drivetrain plans can change the questions surrounding the body and other parts. Keep the project record current and revisit the quote when the configuration changes. Do not assume an earlier compatibility discussion covers a revised layout.
Use the enquiry form to state whether you already own a chassis and describe it in the message. Include your timeframe and destination, while keeping frame costs separate from the general $20,000 kit starting price.
